Hello world!

Hold on to your hats, folks, I have started a blog. I have no idea yet exactly what I’m going to post here, but I expect it’ll be pretty much whatever I happen to be thinking about. To start with, I’ll probably make some comments about the blog machine I’m using, WordPress. Certainly I’m not thrilled by my blog’s appearance as I write this (a greenish version of the default Kubric theme); but it’s configurable, so this very sentence might be out of date before you read it!

When I get bored with tweaking the blog itself, expect posts about my various projects: the ATV wheelchair, model airplanes, random electronic and mechanical gizmos. Also expect the occasional rant or rave about whatever tools and services I happen to encounter along the way. 

Sometime soon I hope to tuck in some sponsor advertising. Frankly, I have doubts about whether ad revenue can amount to much. I’m not artificially targeting any particular demographic, whatever that means. I will try to focus on things that others might find useful, but ultimately this site is about stuff that interests me.

    Howdy! This is a much better place for your thoughts. I need to find your RSS feed so I can know when you post. (Is there a preview anywhere around here?)

    RSS feed links are displayed in the footer. Is that what you mean?

    Also, what do you mean by preview? Currently the feed is set up for whole posts, but I think I should switch it to Summary. I get long-winded!

    Oh! You mean you want a comment preview, of course. I’ve added one now. At the moment I’m having a bit of trouble lining up the buttons, but at least it seems to work.

    Sorry, the preview plugin I tried before was working in Safari, but it looked janky and it won’t work at all in Firefox. I’ve put in a live preview plugin for now. Just start typing and you’ll see a formatted preview below the comment box.
